GrabHealth – COVID-19 Campaign Site Design

In early 2020, COVID-19 pandemic spread all over the world and Indonesia was no exception. GrabHealth was one of the leading telehealth services in Indonesia, embedded in the super app platform – Grab. As we’ve observed COVID-19 cases surge in Indonesia, we initiated the COVID-19 campaign site to keep users updated with the latest case update, news, and to help them with our teleconsult services.

About the Project

Product Goal

Keep Indonesian users stay informed and vigilant with latest COVID-19 pandemic situation
Promote our main offerings to users, such as COVID-19 risk assessment, tele-consult, health products delivery, and articles, to keep them accompany during pandemic

Business Goal

Increase new registered users
Drive traffic to main offerings

Outcome

The data suggested 50%+ of users were interested in trying out risk assessment as they suspected they might get an infection. On top of that, the article about how to tell the difference of symptoms between flu and coronavirus had the highest CTR of 60%. Accordingly, we could argue people were inclined to know whether they have contracted with COVID-19.
We drove traffic to the COVID-19 site by 600k and 23% of visitors explored our main offering services.

MVP

Enhance credibility

Emphasize the official endorsement subject to COVID-19 stats from Indonesia MOH (Minister of Health) in order to keep users reassured
Use the Grab’s slogan “KITA VS CORONA” catering to pandemic time to show solidarity with users

Keep users aware of COVID-19 outbreak with data visualization method

I choose to display confirmed, followed by death and recovered cases, excluding active ones. My goal is to emphasize the severity of COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia because we’ve learned local people are less vigilant due to the culture and pressure to live on

Iteration

Tweak the format of the daily increase case from percentage to absolute number

As we received feedback on misunderstanding the percentage indication, I tweaked it to directly display the absolute number of the increased case in the sense that it was more intuitive for users to perceive.

Add mask sales & mental health counseling

Adding mask sales to the COVID-19 site was an unavoidable move considering the shortage of mask supply across the region. However, mental health counseling was an informed decision in the light of the surge of need to talk to doctors about worries about losing jobs and frustration after staying home for such a long time.

Add misinformation clarification

During the pandemic time, people were more susceptible to fake news. For instance, drinking herbal tea (a local Indonesian healthy drink) could keep the virus at bay. In order to keep people stay sane, we were obliged to provide them with correct info  and clarification from our doctor teams.
